Wednesday 17th August saw the band making the long journey to Tamnamore. This is a parade never before attended by the band. Tamnamore over the past two to three years have attended our annual parade but previously we have been unable to attend due to very low numbers and trouble in getting a bus provided.
The band tonight travelled with a healthy 19 fluters, 8 drummers, 8 flag girls, 1 bass drummer, 1 cymbal player Craig on the mace and 1 side walker. Conditions were not at there best tonight with a mixture of rain and mist in store but that didnt stop a good selection of bands attending including Drumderg, Castlederg and Bessbrook True Blues to name a few.
The number of spectators surprised me along the route especially at the start, this was due to the conditions being wet which turned worst later through the parade.
The band played well tonight with the majority of the members being under the age of 25 with signs looking good for the future. Flutes were strong even with the wet conditions and as usuaul the drum corps were top notch when called upon except for Greasy who yet again managed to bust a drum head.
The crowd gave us a welcome reception aswell as the host band who rewarded us with four first places.
Colour Party, Drum Major, Style and Appearance and Best Overall.
