Rising Sons Of The Valley Annual Parade
This was the first public outing of our new uniforms, and it was appropriate that it should be in Kilkeel.
The band paraded with 13 drummers, 33 fluters, a colour party of 11 along with a drum major, bass drum and a special guest on percussion (well done Peter).
The band looked fantastic and played wonderfully well throughout drawing a large following as always as we made our way through the Town. The feedback from members of other bands was all positive, especially regarding the colour party who really made an impression with all the new flags on display for the first time.
It would appear that the band was ignored/missed by the judges on the night as no mention was made of our participation when it came to results time. The good news is that all the lads with clipboards were sent to specsavers the next morning where they are still offering 2 pairs of specs for the price of 1.
