Red Hand Defenders Downpatrick
Monday 1st August saw the band travel a short distance to Downpatrick for the Red Hand Defenders annual parade who have recently purchased new uniformsand i think they look the business and its good to see their numbers picking up after recent years
The host band hasnt been able to walk throught the main town for many years and are put out the country roads but it was good to see the bands supporting them as they are a well travelled band, in total of 30-40 bands turned up to show their support with a good evening yet again.
The band tonight travelled with 24 flutes, 6 drummers, 9 flag girls, nigel on blackthorn, cutter on bass, WJ on cymbals and Craig continuing to lead the band in the absence of darren.
The band played to a high quality tonight and a few new tunes that have been played recently over the past few weeks are coming on nicely.
