Loyal Sons Of Benagh Newry

This is a regular parade early in the calender that always try to attend. We feel it is important to support this particular band (as well as the South Down Defenders also from Newry) as there has been a concerted campaign to make life as difficult as possible for the band s in their attempts to hold a parade in Newry.

For those who are not aware, the parade is prevnted from entering the City Centre and so is restricted to the Belfast side of the City, starting at the Hockey club car park opposite the police station.

Again the band played well throughout, and again numbers were good, 25 flutes, 12 drums, 9 flags, 1 drum major and 2 percussion.

A personal highlight of the night was the discovery of a very tasty burger fan near the start of the parade. Notes were taken and that particular establishment will be visited again over the next few months.

We also picked up a few more Awards, 1st Melody Drum Corps, 1st Style and Appearance and 1st Colour Party. Was particularly pleased with the award for thye colour Party as the girls have worked very hard over the winter months. Well Done!!
