Now if you've been reading through a lot of these reports you will know that I like to visit new parades. So this was one that I was really looking forward to doing. Castlederg Young Loyalists had made the long trip to Kilkeel to be at our parade earlier in the year and we wanted to show support and thanks.

Castlederg is in County Tyrone, 20 miles from Omagh towards the border with Donegal. It's also the home of Hibs winger and Northern Ireland international Ivan Sproule. It meant an early start for all, but was well worth the trip. Crowds lined the main street for the parade (not a competition) which included a great selection of bands. I didn't  get to see them all but there was at least 1 Pipe band in attendance and many good local outfits including the Omagh protestant Boys who we sadly don't get to see as much off these days.

Again, I must say, well done to all who traveled, a tremendous effort to take a band of 40 on the night, and I'm sure all who went will be keen to return next year. Great parade, great hospitality and a great chip shop.

Now I can't remember the name of the establishment but an eagle eyed drummer spotted it on the way round the parade route and returned with a few others after the parade.

Gary the cameraman of course had to be persuaded to go for food. "Would you like to go to the chippy Gary? Does the Pope have a balcony" You get the picture.

However his excitement could be described as restrained when you compare it to the delight on Johnny Doak's mug when after ordering a fish supper the nice lady behind the counter presented him with 2 fish. Those City slickers always land on their feet.

Anyway, great night, think we'll def be back at this one.
